BOSTON --- The Massachusetts Housing Partnership (MHP) is teaming up with the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) Boston to sponsor a discussion on the innovative financing strategies that can be used to support deeper energy savings and clean energy technologies in affordable developments.
The event – entitled Innovative Financing Strategies for High-Performance Affordable Housing – is scheduled for Monday, June 10, from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Fort Point Room, 290 Congress Street, Boston. Seating is limited so register now.
The discussion will feature lenders, subsidy providers and owners who will talk about the potential to incorporate efficiency improvements into the financing process. The panel will include:
- Sadie McKeown, Executive Vice President & COO, Community Preservation Corporation (New York).
- Dara Yaskil, New York City Dept. of Housing Preservation and Development
- Emily Jones, Program Officer, LISC Boston
- Mark Curtiss, Managing Director, MHP
- Julie Klump, Vice President for Design and Building Performance, Preservation of Affordable Housing (POAH).
MHP recently launched its new Green and Healthy Housing Programs, which provide lower interest rates and additional incentives for owners who invest in increased energy efficiency and healthy building design for their residents. The new MHP programs provide permanent first mortgage financing for both new and existing affordable housing developments.
One of the unique aspects of MHP’s new programs is that it is partnering with LISC Boston to provide free energy audits to affordable housing owners who are considering making green and healthy enhancements to their properties.
