BOSTON --- The Housing Stability Monitor is an ongoing research series that provides quarterly updates on eviction and foreclosure trends in Massachusetts. This is the fifth edition of the series and features interactive housing stability data through June 2024. In addition to eviction and foreclosure trends, this edition also features analysis focusing on homelessness in light of recent developments that have led to unprecedented demand for shelter in our emergency assistance system.

BOSTON --- Building on its commitment to help communities achieve their affordable housing goals through using local funds, MHP's Community Assistance team has selected four communities to receive support through its intensive technical assistance program for local housing trusts.

WORCESTER --- A record 200-plus municipal leaders, volunteers, and staff in suburban and rural communities and gateway cities convened in Worcester for MHP's 18th Housing Institute. The two-day conference at the DCU Center was held on June 4 and 5.

Each year MHP honors individuals and communities that exemplify tireless leadership and commitment to supporting and furthering affordable housing across the commonwealth. Four honorees received this year’s Housing Hero Award. The recipients were honored on the second day of our annual Housing Institute on June 5 at Worcester's DCU Center. Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities (EOHLC) Secretary Ed Augustus presented the awards.

Our collaborative effort between Massachusetts Housing Partnership’s Center for Housing Data (CHD), Way Finders, and the Western Massachusetts Housing Coalition launched in 2023 to analyze and better understand development potential in all parts of Berkshire, Franklin, Hampden, and Hampshire counties. The purpose of this memo is to provide a summary of field work conducted in western Massachusetts, offer a methodological overview of our data-driven approach to exploring development opportunities, and present the results of four scenarios that use our novel database to identify and quantify certain types of development opportunities across the four counties in the region.
