BOSTON --- Dr. Tiffany Manuel, President and CEO of TheCaseMade, an organization dedicated to helping leaders, advocates, and communities build stronger public support for social change, returns to MHP’s Housing Institute as the keynote speaker.

Dr. Tiffany Manuel will be the keynote speaker at MHP's 19th Housing Institute. The first 50 people to register will receive a copy of her book Fast Track: Navigating Narrative Strategy, Power, and The Case for Justice.

"Community support is vital to creating the homes we need, and Dr. Tiffany Manuel is the go-to person for learning how to bring people together around a shared vision," said MHP Executive Director Rachel Heller. Dr. Manuel has helped shift the conversation about housing in Massachusetts — from responding to crisis to building a future where everyone can thrive. We are thrilled to welcome her back to the Housing Institute."

“I’m thrilled to join this year’s Housing Institute,” she said. “If we’re honest, housing is where our values show up — or fall apart. It is the heartbeat of every Massachusetts community, and the reason we show up here today with courageous leadership. Courageous leadership means refusing to accept scarcity as inevitable and instead building the conditions for everyone to thrive.”

The 19th Housing Institute, which will be held June 25 and 26 at the DCU Center in Worcester, brings together municipal leaders, volunteers, and employees in cities and towns across Massachusetts to problem solve, network, and share ideas on the development process of affordable housing across the Commonwealth. Another highlight will be the Housing Hero Awards ceremony on the second day of the conference, in which local officials, volunteers and communities are honored for their role in supporting affordable housing.

In her return to the Housing Institute, Dr. Manuel will facilitate a reflection on how Massachusetts communities have elevated the way the conversation on equity, housing, and community development is framed using her Strategic CaseMaking™ book as a blueprint. She will also share new strategies to drive change, using insights from her new book, Fast Track: Navigating Narrative Strategy, Power, and The Case for Justice. The book is a roadmap for changemakers who are ready to stop inching forward and start accelerating real transformation, moving with clarity, courage, and in the service of community. The first 50 people to register will receive a complimentary copy of the book.

Dr. Manuel previously spoke at MHP’s 13th Housing Institute in 2019, where she presented, “Making the Case for Affordable Housing” which received a standing ovation. And in a collaboration between MHP and the Citizens' Housing and Planning Association (CHAPA) in 2020, Dr. Manuel held an interactive forum on ways to change the narrative around affordable housing in Massachusetts communities.

Dr. Manuel has over 30 years of experience working with government, academia, and the private and public sectors on strategies to expand opportunities for low-wage workers and build inclusive communities.
