AMESBURY --- After the town had rejected a developer's 40B proposal, the state overrode the decision because the town has not reached the state's minimum requirement for affordable housing. Now, the town has appealed the decision and seeks to negotiate with the developer to reduce the size of the effort.

CHELMSFORD --- A positive meeting between developers and selectmen has set plans in motion for the construction of 51 homeownership condominiums, 13 of which will be affordable units.

BOSTON --- California-based Freemont Investment & Loan is tied to more than 120 of the roughly 1,100 foreclosure filings by lenders against Boston condo and home owners, according to John Anderson, a Dorchester foreclosure guru and head of The Real Estate Analyst, a business that tracks foreclosure filings.

NEEDHAM --- Charles River Landing will include 300 one and two-bedroom apartments inside a mix of retail and commercial space, in an effort to attract young professionals to live in this mixed-income development.

BOSTON --- Tenants of a low-income building in Chinatown have submitted a proposal to purchase the property for $2.4 million and hope to sign an agreement to make the units permanently affordable.

BOSTON --- Harvard University has released a 50-year multi-billion dollar master plan detailing its vision to expand its facilities and housing between Western Avenue and Soldier's Field Road in Allston.
