BOSTON --- Registration is open for the 18th Housing Institute, which takes place June 4-5 at the DCU Convention Center, 50 Foster Street, Worcester.

The cost to attend is $100 per day and $175 for both days. A discounted block of hotel rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn in Worcester is available until May 13. Contact the hotel online with code MHP6, or by calling 1-800-HILTONS.

The conference brings together municipal leaders, volunteers, and employees in suburban and rural communities and gateway cities to problem solve, network, and share ideas on the development process of affordable housing across the commonwealth.

Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities Secretary Ed Augustus will present the Housing Heroes awards on day two of the training. The awards honor individuals and communities for their hard work and unwavering commitment to supporting and furthering affordable housing.

This year’s Housing Institute includes three tracks:

  • Policy and Planning
  • Affordable Housing Development
  • Outreach and Advocacy

  • Unlocking Housing Production on Public Land: Land Disposition and the RFP Process
  • Affordable Housing Finance 101
  • Playing the Long Game: Accelerating Housing Supply in Your Community
  • Using Data and leveraging Regional Coordination to Identify Development Opportunities

Bus transportation will be provided for a June 4 optional neighborhood walk and site visits. Space is limited for both. Participants can sign up for one of the choices when they register.
