BOSTON --- MHP is accepting applications for its 3A-TA program, a direct technical assistance program to help MBTA communities comply with the state’s new multifamily zoning requirement (Section 3A of the state’s zoning act).
3A-TA can be used to support compliance-related activities such as:
- Identifying district boundaries
- Developing and/or evaluating proposed use and density requirements
- Estimating unit capacity and gross density using DHCD's compliance model
- Drafting zoning amendments
Applications will be accepted through November 10. For more information, read the 3A-TA application.
The 3A-TA program is part of MHP’s Complete Neighborhoods Initiative, which supports the state's efforts to build more multifamily housing near transit, downtowns, jobs and services. MHP is currently in the middle of holding a 10-part webinar series and will be providing additional resources and trainings for MBTA communities throughout the law's two-year compliance period.
