New rental housing now graces entrance to downtown Beverly

BEVERLY, July 8, 2011 --- For many years, if you came into downtown Beverly from the north, one of the buildings that would catch your eye was the Mayflower Motel. A long, single-story, brick building on the left, it had become rundown and tired-looking. In its final years, its small rooms had become permanent homes for some of the community's lower-income residents.

MHP commits $9.7M to rehab 122 units

New Bedford celebrates revitalization of Regency Tower

NEW BEDFORD, June 15, 2011 --- The 15-story Regency Tower is New Bedford's tallest building and public officials have come to view it as a barometer for the city. Earlier this spring, everyone was forecasting a bright future as Governor Deval Patrick and Congressman Barney Frank joined other top state and local leaders to celebrate the downtown apartment building's $32 million revitalization into 129 mixed-income rental apartments.
