LEOMINSTER --- A developer who says he was unfairly targeted by the IG's probe into 40B profits has stalled his efforts from going forward in two towns, saying he may develop the land for commercial use instead. He is joined by several of the state's housing agencies in questioning the IG's tactics of applying development standards retroactively.

CONCORD --- A developer will soon purchase 19 acres of land from the town to create up to 20 units of housing in a cluster development that will include preserved open space.

NORWELL --- As selectmen consider lowering the Community Preservation Act surcharge, they hope voters will pass an article in favor of a housing trust fund to create a buy-down program and increase affordable opportunities without the need for 40B's.

CHATHAM --- The town's zoning board is considering a 40B proposal which would redevelop a closed fish market into two buildings with 12 units of housing.

ATTLEBORO --- The city has formed an affordable housing committee to fight discrimination, educate consumers about fair lending, and turn abandoned homes into affordable homeownership opportunities.

BROCKTON --- The redevelopment of the city's mills into affordable housing has been a significant factor in the economic revival of the city, according to a report by the Brookings Institute.
