BROCKTON --- The redevelopment of the city's mills into affordable housing has been a significant factor in the economic revival of the city, according to a report by the Brookings Institute.

WELLESLEY --- The redevelopment of the recently demolished Wellesley Inn has taken another step forward as the selectmen threw its support behind a plan to turn develop the site into 9,000 square feet of retail and 19 market rate condominiums. In addition, a residential cottage that still stands on the site will be turned into two affordable housing units.

HYANNIS --- The Housing Assistance Corporation of Cape Cod is tracking the progress of a workforce housing task force that is trying to figure out how to best provide affordable housing for the Cape's workers. The task force was formed after a Cape housing summit last year.

EASTON --- With the planned extension of the Stoughton commuter rail line in mind, the town plans to go forward with a 40R smart growth proposal that will add 60 condominiums, 220 apartments and retail space while qualifying for over $1 million in grants from the state.
