Plymouth: Housing Authority eyes old school

PLYMOUTH --- The Plymouth Housing Authority is looking to partner with the town's Community Preservation Committee to turn the soon-to-be vacant Mount Pleasant School into eight units of public housing. The School Committee recently reverted ownership of the school to the town. In addition to the housing authority, a private developer is also seeking permission from the town to develop the property.

Great Barrington: OKs 45 units at former log home site

GREAT BARRINGTON — The Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) Monday has voted 4-1 to grant Community Development Corporation of South Berkshire (CDC) a comprehensive permit to build 45 units of affordable housing on 2.2 acres of a hazardous waste site on Bridge Street. The board approved the plan with 42 conditions and voted down a suggestion by board member Michael Wise that the entire 8-acre site be cleaned up before anyone is allowed to live there.

Wareham: HA says audit issues being addressed

WAREHAM --- The Wareham Housing Authority says it has already addressed issues identified in a state audit, which include nearly 2,000 applications sitting in piles and boxes and inadequate documentation of the executive director's salary.
