Medfield: Come out in force against 200-unit 40B

MEDFIELD --- At least 200 residents packed the Medfield High auditorium this past week to make it clear they do not like a developer's plans to apply to the town for a Ch. 40B permit so it can build two five-story buildings and 200 units on Dale St. The heckling started as soon as developers put a rendering up on the screen and developers sometimes had to stop their explanations when the heckling became too loud, according to news coverage of the meeting.

Edgartown: Discounts 3 town lots for 1st-time buyers

EDGARTOWN --- Edgartown plans to sell three buildable half-acre lots of town-owned land for $75,000 to a pool of qualified applicants who will be chosen by lottery. The lots will be subdivided from a town-owned 1.6-acre parcel just off Edgartown–Vineyard Haven Road. To qualify for the lottery, applicants must be able to prove that they have lived or worked in Edgartown for the past five years, be either a first-time homeowner, or reside in an existing home that is within the Edgartown affordable housing inventory, or be a “displaced homemaker,” which is defined as a spouse or member of a household who is dependent on someone else’s income.
