MHP presents virtual affordable housing training series

Posted on February 24, 2026

BOSTON --- Strengthening Local Boards and Commissions to Support Affordable Housing is a series of trainings designed to help deepen understanding of the local housing ecosystem.

MHP's three-module training, funded in part by Eastern Bank Foundation, is being held on consecutive Wednesdays in March from noon to 1:30 p.m. beginning on March 11. Register here.

Building on last year’s inauguration of this series, practitioners using new development examples from across the state will help participants gain a deeper understanding of the local ecosystem that supports or hinders the development and preservation of affordable housing.

The audience for this training is key local boards that interface with the housing development process (e.g., planning, ZBA, select, housing trusts, AHC/AHPs, CPCs), people engaged in supporting affordable housing, and those interested in becoming engaged in supporting affordable housing.

March 11 – Module 1: Understanding the local ecosystem

March 18 – Module 2: Municipal role in affordable housing development

March 25 – Module 3: Why building local support is critical for board/commission success
