Municipal Affordable Housing Trust (MAHT) 101 Training

WORCESTER --- Following up a successful training in September, the Massachusetts Housing Partnership (MHP) and the Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission (CMRPC) will jointly host a training focused on Municipal Affordable Housing Trusts (MAHT) on Friday, Dec. 9 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Worcester.

The training will be held at Union Station, 2 Washington Square, 2nd Floor, Worcester, MA 01604. Garage parking is available at 217 Franklin Street. The cost to attend is $25 and includes coffee/tea and lunch. Registration begins at 9 a.m.

Geared toward new trust staff, new trustees and communities interested in learning about trusts, this daylong training will focus specifically on MAHTs and cover:

  • Forming a housing trust and getting it off the ground.
  • Establishing credibility for your trust.
  • Eligible activities for trusts.
  • Legal and operational considerations.
  • Strategies for building support for affordable housing.
  • Changes to how housing trust function with Community Preservation Act (CPA) funding, per the Modernizing Municipal Finance and Government Act (H. 4565).
