HomeSafe Education

SoftSecond borrowers must complete a post-purchase HomeSafe Workshop within one year of closing on their property. For a reference copy of the agreement you signed upon closing on your home, please see the HomeSafe Post-Purchase Counseling Requirement Letter.

Completion of a HomeSafe Workshop is a requirement of the SoftSecond Loan Program but courses are also available to SoftSecond borrowers who are looking to further their homeownership education in the years following their closing.

Topics discussed in HomeSafe workshops include home maintenance and repairs, lead paint, budgeting, insurance discounts, grants, tenant management, low interest loans, and other resources available to homeowners. HomeSafe Workshops offer customized classes for owners of various types of property (i.e. condominiums, single family homes, two family homes, or three family homes).

Below is a list of all HomeSafe approved workshop providers. You can take a class with any agency listed below no matter where you purchased your home. For a list of upcoming classes, visit the Citizens' Housing and Planning Association's (CHAPA) Homeownership Education Workshop Schedule.
