BOSTON --- MHP's ONE Mortgage Program today unveiled a new calculator designed to make it easier for first-time home buyers to calculate what they can afford and to find resources to help them achieve the dream of homeownership.
"The ONE Mortgage calculator has always been the most popular part of our web site and we wanted to upgrade it to provide home buyers with the best user experience possible," said Elliot Schmiedl, MHP's homeownership director. "Our previous calculator was a modified version of a design that was originally done for desk tops and was only adequate on other devices. This one will work well on a desk top, tablet and phone and we think it will provide a clearer, more logical picture for the home buyer of the steps they need to take to buy their first home."
Key new features of the calculator include an easier step-by-step process, automatic calculation of taxes and insurance, and interest rate quotes specific to ONE Mortgage.
In addition to improving the calculator, ONE Mortgage has also expanded its home buyer resources page to include information about where to get down payment and other assistance. The page continues to offer comprehensive lists of requirements, home buyer education classes, and contact information for lenders who offer ONE Mortgage.
"Our improved website will help connect low- to moderate-income first time homebuyers with the resources they need to realize their dream our homeownership," said Schmiedl.
We ask home buyers and ONE Mortgage partners to take the new calculator for a test drive and tell us what you think. To provide feedback, email email@example.com.
