Rental financing: MHP examines construction costs

BOSTON, Nov. 15, 2007 - MHP has completed a year-long study of factors that impact the cost of multi-family housing developments. MHP looked at 38 newly-built projects, examining the impact of five variables - project size, building size, project location, wage rate requirements and affordability.

Researchers out of the Rappaport Institute for Greater Boston at Harvard University interviewed local officials, real estate developers, leaders of local organizations, and leaders of regional planning entities in eight representative Massachusetts communities inside the corridor defined by I-495.
