The Massachusetts Housing Partnership (MHP) is a statewide public non-profit affordable housing organization that works in concert with the Governor and the state Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) to help increase the supply of affordable housing in Massachusetts. MHP focuses its efforts in three main areas: Community Assistance, Rental Financing and Homeownership.
The Staff Accountant/Administrative Assistant will provide accounting, administrative, analytical, and technical support to the Finance & Administration team. Responsibilities will include day-to-day operations, accounts payable, general ledger and bank account reconciliations, and administrative support to the Manager of Human Resources and Administration. An ideal candidate demonstrates a strong commitment to MHP’s mission.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have direct experience in an accounting and administration setting, ability to manage deadlines and time sensitive projects, effectively prioritizing duties, and the demonstrated success working in a team environment. Strong computer proficiency, including spreadsheet analysis and data management is required. Experience with Dynamics general ledger, two years of administrative support in accounting, administration and/or human resources setting and/or associates or bachelor’s degree in accounting is preferred.
Specific Responsibilities: Processing operating, escrow and reserve checks, audit and post daily cash receipts, prepare monthly bank and 403(b) reconciliations, payroll backup, backup receptionist, and provide general administrative support to the Finance and Administration Team.
