Current Opportunity:

MHP’s IT team is expanding, and we have an exciting opportunity for an IT Network Administrator. The Network Administrator will be an integral part of MHP’s Information Technology team. Focus will be on maintaining the current network infrastructure, including upgrading, managing, performance and system availability. This position offers the opportunity to do something different each day including configuration of servers, installation of equipment, software, software/operating system updates and other network devices along with troubleshooting of these devices. Providing input regarding network and system issues and acting as the primary point of contact for any related issue is an invaluable part of the role. This position will work with all teams and all levels within the organization. Establishing relationships, effective and continual communication, and translating complex information to non-technical team members are integral for success in the role. This position reports to the IT Director.

Below are some of the ways that you may spend your time as a IT Network Administrator

  • Manage and maintain server infrastructure. Oversee all physical and virtual servers.
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, review system and application logs, and verify completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
  • Performing system upgrades and applying patches as recommended by product manufacturers and in accordance with Company policy and procedures.
  • Maintain current system documentation, including service records.
  • Oversee and monitor data backup and restore procedures
  • Maintain an updated Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plan
  • Train management on new network and/or IT procedures, etc.
  • Promote and provide cybersecurity training as required
  • Tracking of all hardware/software service contract renewals.
  • Responsible for instituting routine system security measures.
  • Assist with system issues escalated by Department management.
  • Oversight responsibility for company’s telecommunication resources (i.e. telephone system, Internet Access, Firewall, routers, etc.) in accordance with Company’s policy and procedures.
  • Escalation support of Company’s MSP for system or network related issues if required.
  • Project management including the installing and configuring of new software.
  • Perform any other assignments as assigned

MHP is currently working on a hybrid model of office-based and remote work. The IT Network Administrator will work an average of 2 days per week out of our Boston office. MHP employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have an approved exemption per our vaccination policy.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

MHP is looking for candidates with a strong working knowledge of networks (including routers, firewalls, etc) and operating systems. This includes knowledge and experience with Windows Server Administration, Veeam administration, Microsoft Software Update Services, Sophos Endpoint protection and Administration, Mitel VOIP and system hardware upgrades. In addition to the technical skills listed, strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills will be the foundation of effectiveness and success in the role. MHP is seeking candidates with demonstrated problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and manage multiple projects. This position will require someone with a strong sense of urgency and who enjoys customer service type interactions. CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified Administrator, Microsoft Certified Solution Architect, Network 5 Certification, or similar certification(s) preferred. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
