LISC to hold forum on passive house design

BOSTON --- In its ongoing effort to promote energy efficiency in affordable housing, LISC Boston has set up an informational forum on passive house design on Monday, Jan. 29 at MassHousing, One Beacon St., Boston.

Here are the details and how to register:

What: Passive House Forum for affordable housing professionals. 

When: Monday, January 29th, 1-3pm. 

Where: Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, Morris Auditorium, 600 Atlantic Ave., Boston, MA 02210

Who: Moderator Michelle Apigian (ICON Architecture); Panelists Hank Keating (formerly of Trinity Financial), Ryan Cassidy (RiseBoro Community Partnership), Jesse Thompson of Kaplan Thompson Architects), 1 additional panelist pending confirmation.

Why: Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) and its partners are interested in encouraging the systematic inclusion of Passive House principles into Massachusetts' multifamily affordable housing sector. This forum will be an introduction to Passive House for the field, broadly covering the why/how/what of Passive House, as well as sharing details on training/planning needed, construction and operating costs for multifamily affordable housing 

Passive House projects, and lessons learned by our architect and developer presenters. The event is open to all individuals and organizations working within the Massachusetts multifamily affordable housing sector, from owners and developers to architects, engineers, general contractors, building science providers, third party consultants, representatives from the state energy, housing, and housing finance agencies, and other permanent lenders including commercial banks.
